I <br /> Page I <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> September 2 , 1994 <br /> 8:35 p.m. Recess 8;46 p.m. Meeting Resumed. <br /> JR/SR HIGH SCHOOL; <br /> Presentation of Preliminary School Design: <br /> Peter I i i io, Chain an of the Jr Sr High School wilding Committee <br /> and Ed Frenette of Symmes, Maini and McKee and Ray Bordwell of <br /> Perkins and will were present to discuss the architectural design of <br /> the high school facility with the Board. <br /> Mr. Dini io asked the Board to vote tonight to authorize the architects _ <br /> to continue to work on the design as presented and selected by the <br /> Jr/Sr High School Building Committee. <br /> Casual drawings prepared by the selected architectural firms were <br /> reviewed and discussed for the Board's consideration. It was <br /> noted that pictorials are being developed for presentation at the <br /> October 3, 1994 Annual Town fleeting. <br /> The design of the facility expresses the uniqueness of Mashpee indicated <br /> Mr. Frenette. Uniqueness combining Cape Cod and Native American <br /> culture. A brick building trimmed with clapboard as accent was selected for <br /> maintenance purposes and to appeal to the perception of residents about <br /> the Cape's architecture indicated Mr. Frenette. <br /> The house plan or two wings as designed to welcome the students entering <br /> the building will allow for a close nit interdisciplinary area of instruction. <br /> It was noted that "smaller is better" for academic flexibility. <br /> As depicted in the archi <br />
