Page 2 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> N&utcs <br /> November 21, 1994 <br /> APPOINTWENTS AND HEARINGS: <br /> Honor Al PoIsi: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Costa to approve the letter and <br /> certificate of appreciation to Mr. Al Pisi as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Vaccaro. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 3-0. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Acceptance of regional Salt Bid: <br /> Greg Taylor,Director of Public works was present to request the Board <br /> approve the Regional Salt Bid from Morton International,Inc. of Chicago <br /> for salt at the price of$33.14 per ton. <br /> Mr.Taylor indicated that Morton Salt Division was the low bidder <br /> for regional salt delivery. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Vaccaro to accept the Regional <br /> Salt bid and authorize the Executive Secretary to execute <br /> the contract on behalf of the Board of Selectmen. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Costa. <br /> VOTE Unanimous. -o. <br /> MLSR HIGH SCHOOL: <br /> Update from Committee: <br /> Paul Griffin, Chairman of the Jr/Sr High School Conunittee was present t <br /> update the Board on current activities. The projected cost of the facility is <br /> n estimated$20,900,000 to date. <br /> Cour goal in the cost reduction theme is to maim the integrity of the <br /> educational program and to sustain Leisure Services indicated Mr. Griffin. <br /> The projected budget for the high school facility is$20,800,000. Reducing <br /> the number of hall fields and changing the exterior finish of the <br /> building will <br /> result in significant cost savings indicated Mr. Griffin. <br /> It was noted that a regional ball field may be developed at the Base. <br /> Tom Cahir is working o this endeavor. with regards to the exterior <br /> of the facility,Mr. Griffin indicated that the committee is reviewing a <br /> textured block finish in place of brick to save$350,000 in materials. <br />
