Page 2 Board of Selectmen Minutes December 12, 1994 APPaINTMEl MS AND WG Hearing - Massachusetts Community Capital Fund; Cape Cod Coffee: Mr. Young indicated that his business is clean,light industry promoting Cape Cod. It was noted that approximately 9 of the product is distributed off Cape throughout the New England area. Mr. o'Hayer indicated that expansion of the facility will allow for distribution in Florida,D.C. and the New York metro area. There are also possibilities for expansion in the Midwest. Selectman Mills opened the Hearing to solicit Public Comment. Mr. Ott asked hove many Cape residents are currently employed by Cape Cod Coffee. It was noted that the company has mine employees. Mr. Albright asked if the business is a retail operation. lir. OHayer indicated that 90% of the business involves retail supermarket sales. The word,lashpee is written on each package of Cape Cod Coffee. It was noted that Selectman Costa and lir.Whritenour were instrumental during the process of locating Cape Cod Coffee to Mashpee and assisting- with the grant application for the$250,000 lover interest loan. Mr.Whritenour indicated that the Town will serve as the application agent for Cape Cod Coffee. There is no financial liability to the Ton. The loan will go directly to Cape Cod Coffee. It was noted that the Mate only gives loans to companies in towns that serve as applicants. Being no further comment, Selectman mills closed the Public Hearing. Motion made by Selectman Costa to present the application of the Board of Selectmen on behalf of Cape Cod Coffee for love interest loan funds under the Mate Economic Development Set Aside SA Program. Motion seconded by Selectman Dinizio. VOTE: Unanimous. -o.
