COOMBS SCHOOL SCHOOL COUNCIL MINUTES S December 1 # 2008 Main office Conference loom 3:30 PM Members Present: Donna Zaesl e, Kira Richards, Liz Wilber, Dan 'Neill, Kim Palmer, Patti Kenney, Deb Greene, Barbara Cotton The meeting was called to order at 3:30 P1 No one was present for open forum. The council members approved the minutes from last month#s meeting. motion to approve was made by Dan O'Neill. Update on February 4., 2009 m School Improvement Plan to the 'School Committee. i Donna Zacse reviewed the goals and said that the goal must be measurable. She also stated that a representative was needed to present the School Improvement Plan to the School Committee on the 4h. The format will need to be presented to the School Committee by January 23rd. DanO'Neill will assist Donna Zaeske with the presentation on February 4, 2009 The council discussed the idea of a community supported project that would involve donating clothes to help students in the school. Many strategies were reviewed as to what format the project would tale. Liz Wilber stated that she would work with I avien Gould to firm up the specifics for the Community Clothing Children's Pantry. Dan O'Neill updated the council on the playground equipment. The cement was poured today and the fence will be installed this week. Ilan announced that an all school celebration will be held on January 8, 2009 at 2:30 PM to celebrate the g n o eniof the new playground. Reporters have been invited and the school will sing opening the school song and present a small celebration for the children. future dedication in the spring will be announced to formally dedicate the playground round to the "M shpee Heroes" that recently lost their lives serving our country. Families of the heroes would be invited. The council discussed the proceeds from the Book Fair and if these funds will be used to support the Library. Kim Palmer stated that the Library would benefit from some new material for the students. The next meeting will be held on January 20, 2009. Meeting was adjourned at 4:45 PM.
