CIS SCHOOL <br /> SGML COUNCIL MINUTES <br /> January 16, 2009 <br /> Main Office Conference Room <br /> 330 PM <br /> Members Present; Donna Zaeske, Kinn Richards, Liz Wilber, Ilan 0"Neill, <br /> Patti Kenny, Liz Hendricks, Deb Greene, Barbara Cotton <br /> The meeting was called to order at 3:30 PM <br /> No one was present for open forum. <br /> The council members approved the minutes from last month's meeting. Motion to <br /> approve was made by Barbara Cotton. <br /> An update on the February 4th, 2009 (SIP) School Improvement Plan to the School <br /> Committee. Donna Zaeske reviewed the SIP and confirmed that Dan O'Neill would <br /> be the School Committee representative assisting Donna Zae l e with the presentation <br /> on February 4th. <br /> Dan O'Neill updated the council on the playground equipment. The dedication tool <br /> place on January 8thand the Cape Cod Tines gave KCC a large presentation in their <br /> paper with some excellent photos of the event. <br /> Dan also provided the council with an update on the PTO initiatives. After reviewing <br /> the financial status, Ilan announced the Monte Carlo fundraiser that the PTO will be <br /> sponsoring on April 4, 2009. Dan and Barbara gave an overview of the type of event, <br /> stressing that the focus will be on ars affordable night out for parents, scaling back <br /> many of the events to accommodate the economic climate. <br /> Kim Richards reviewed the Countdown to Kindergarten calendar. Many of the <br /> activities scheduled this year include a Math Night, the Science Fair, Miss Mary from <br /> the Children's Museum and Janet Burke from the Ma hpee Library. The calendar will <br /> e published next week for all incoming kindergarten arten families along with the <br /> registration packet that is mailed to all eligible families. <br /> Liz Wilber reviewed the School Council goad of a community supported project that <br /> would involve donating clothes to help students in the school. Many strategies were <br /> reviewed as to what format the project would take. Outstanding items requiring <br /> further discussion at the next School Council Meeting include: <br /> Who will manage/runt the program? <br /> 'where will the clothes be stored` <br /> When will this be implemented? <br /> Invite guidance/School Nurse to provide input <br />
