MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> SEPTEMBER 28, 1993 <br /> TOWN HALL <br /> Present: Paul Griffin , Bill Jones , Merry Sue AhIgren , Bill <br /> Martiros , Janice Mills , Steve Gree lish , Peter Dinizio, Joe Polito <br /> Greg Taylor , Tom Fudala, Dr . DeMoura <br /> Absent: Linda Murtha <br /> Meeting convened at 4 : 15 p , m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Mr . Griffin made a motion to accept -the minutes of 9/21 /9,. 3 . Ms . <br /> AhIgren seconded the motion . All members were in favor , <br /> REPORT ON MEETING WITH SGSB <br /> Chairman Dinizio explalned he and Bill Jones attended the meeting <br /> w ith the State on Friday . The State explained the. requirements <br /> have (-.-;hanqed and the building has to be fully designed by June 1 , <br /> 19(94 - full con strIACtion docurnents are,, required . There is no room <br /> for delay in this schedule . A representative from CERA was also <br /> at the meeting ,, Fie said 'they could do it in that time frame . <br /> Mr . Jones explained legislatIon has been passed which has frozen <br /> AV <br /> the application list. I those projects must be fully funded <br /> fir'st arid then Mashpee will have first prior-ity . <br /> It -is his opinion having the building designed by June is an <br /> extremely risky procedure and he is not sure it -is attainable <br /> without serious comprami 8e in the durability on <br /> f the buildigb <br /> Mr . Griffin said Carl Franc eschi explained to him the State <br /> understands there will be changes in the building design ,, They <br /> produce a set of drawings they call "finished" for the State but <br /> they are riot fully checked and ready to go out to bid . The town <br /> can ask for modifications . <br /> Mr . Chi nizio explained to start the project, and to bond it -the <br /> town must have construction documents submitted and the town must <br /> appropriate the money . Ma hp will have to do that in December. <br /> The amount asked for w-111 be based on the State formula. <br /> Presently the State funds $144 per sq . foot. Your project is <br /> looked it at the rat eL at the t'ime of construst lori F <br /> Mash pee will get reimbursed for a core facility -for 1350 students <br /> with classrooms for 1 , 000 students and the State allows for <br /> extras i .,e. special education rooms , community uses , <br /> Mr .
