MASHPE�E HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MINUTES OCTOBER 61 1993 TOWN HALL Present: Peter Rini zio, Merry sue Ah19ren , Bill Jones, Bill L Marti ros , Joe pol I to Steve Greelish , Pau] Griffin , Jan-ice Mills , Tom Fudal a, Dr , Lincoln DeMoura, Carl Franceschi , DFRA Absent: Linda Murtha MINUTES **Mr . Griffin made a motion to accept the minutes of Sept. 283 1993 . Ms , AhIgren seconded the motion . All members in favor , ** DISCUSSION WITH ARCHITECT Carl Franceschi had three -things to discuss : draft table of contents of report , status of some issues, discussion of cost re .: two ineet"ings . Status: continuing geotechnica] investigation . They have been very succes-sful in getting permission from private 'land owners. G spoke with Board of Health and DPW and obtained o"Ider aerial photos and spoke with some older resident of the town and feel they have a much clea,rer picture of what went on at -that site . They did add-Itional -test pits and did find -in a few places 4-5 f -t ee of ashy soil and domestic debr-is In There are some soi I samples at the 1 ab but they don "t expect any surpr ises At the DPW site they were lead by 'local people and dug deeper and found some bul Id-ing debris brick , wood , concrete block ) but nothing more significant than that. At 'the Leary parcel they did more test pits and in I zone found some old auto parts and debris . There was nothing extensive , no volatile measurements . It may mean they may want to Ifin,it the old dump site 'to recreational fields , possibly parking but there are no safety ar health concerns- . Further development of the area will require r more extensive investigation but is enough informa t ion for general recommendation . They did not find any groundwater contamination . Mr . Greelish stated the Board of Health has one suspect area but does k'now of any contamination. There was a 21E study completed -for the proposed subdivision on a portion of the site . Mr . Martiros arsked -if the Committee will hear again from the, traffic consultant; he has more information to gather? , Carl explained he has some more inform at-ion to ther re: trlp generation . That will be included -in draft of the report . PTO MEETING: Carl cannot attend but Mr. Writ-tenburg , a principal of the firm will . The Committee is second on -the agenda.
