Mr .
Fran cesch ' stated they still see some intense competition .
Mr . Fran hi stated the State will support what a town wants to
do for energy systems, i . e. heat recovery systems, as long as you
don ' t exceed the limit. It is one of the tradeoffs the town has
to make. It is his opinion there are more savings on the air-
conditioning system,,
Chairman D i n i z i o stated the Committee had not previously
mentioned air-conditioning but would 'like to look at it,
Chairman Dinizio received a memo stating all articles for fall
town meeting are due on August 9th . Thi s Committee has to focus
on what they are going to ask the Town for and have to come to a
consensus as a Committee.
Tom Fudala stated the article will have to specify exactly the
piece of land they want to acquire . The Committee decided to
submit two articles in their entirety and shave off pieces as
necessary , The article must include the cost of the land , the
cost of borrowing and some fees, Anne Shaw usually calculates the
am-ount .
Bill Jones stated a single purpose special town meeting in late
October, early November makes sense as opposed to being just one
of many items on the agenda.
An eminent domain taking requires a two-thirds vote of town
meeting and an appropriation outside of Prop . 2 1/2 also requires
a two-thirds vote.
There has to be an election for the tax exemption , having two
ballot questions (for two sites ) may be a problem. The Committee
must determine the deadline for that.
Chairman Dinizio will talk with the Selectmen ' s office regarding
these issues , articles, election , special town meeting ,
2
