ASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE TUESDAY , MAY 17 , 1994 TOWN HALL Members Present: Peter D i n i z i o, Joe Polito} Bill Martiros , Bill Jones , Michael Pare , Steve Creel i sh , Merry Sue Ah l g ren , Janice Mills, Joan Tavares Also Present: Ray Bordwel l , Perkins and Will , Robert Fournier, SM�MIA, Dr, Lincoln DeMiou ra, Gus Fredricks "Ft0c Meeting convened at 4 : 1 p .m* MINUTES Changes : add Paul Griffin as present, Pg . 7 700 seats , not sets Merry Sue grade a motion to approve the minutes of May 10 , as amended . Bill Jones seconded the motion . All members were in favor . ** PROJECT MANAGER REPORT Contracts - Paul - r i f f i n , Ed F rennette and Bob Fournier met to resolve the contract language . They agreed to include a target area of 183 , 000 sq feet, llo per sq foot and a budget construction cost of 0 , 130 , 000 , not to be exceeded . The Committee will hold a contingency of 5 for value added proposals . Ian received a draft copy of this language from Bob Fournier, he will pass it on toau Tiffin and it is thea up to the Building committee to make a recommendation to the Selectmen to sign i t. Chartwell has not received a draft contract or a letter of intent . Ian will talk to Bob wh r i tenou r about i t. Peter received a draft contract which he passed on to Ian . Program- Bob and Ray will present the revised program tod air with the deletion of the large group classroom. That will bring the total sq footage slightly below 183 , 000 sq feet �- M r. Fournier will also present the net to gross factor with and without the mechanical and electrical equipment space. - Joan Tavares l l p rov ii de information on the location of the Indian Education space. Joan said she would be late , the committee will get back to this , - Ed Frennette spoke with Gus Fredricks about Leisure Services space* Ed is concerned about the 2 fractions- one wanting large and the other small amount of space . This needs to be resolved. Selectmen Nancy Caffyn wrote a letter to the Board of Selectmen on this issue . They did not meet last night, so the issue is still outstanding . Peter was told , 200 sq feet would be acceptable i f their main office is not in the high school * They will need 3 , Zoo sq feet offices if it is in the high school . The Committee has to wait for direction from the Selectmen on this issue . The Committee asked the architects to investigate how much , if any , community space will be reimbursable from the State. can we build beyond the 1837000 sal feet and be re i mbu rsed Site Development -- Ray will present options for the Committee to review and 1
