He suggested the architect talk with all department heads , have 1 meeting for review of the site plan . Ian can set up the meeting. Paul suggested they think about scheduling a date soon , so everyone will have sufficient notice . Written program: Ed suggested the Committee go through the program and try to reduce the space , They are using a 1 . 35 conversion rate which is the lowest they can achieve . Paul Griffin said he has a problem with the 1 , 35 . The mechanical and electrical equipment rooms are pulled out of the factor, and usually are in the f actor , so i t i s not really l . . This gives people the impression we have saved on this plan . Ray said it was the consensus of the Committee that we put down all the -pace , so no space gets lost. Mr. Frennette said next week they will calculate it both ways , Bill Ma rt i ros suggested eliminating the large group classroom at 1 , 700 sq feet. There is an auditorium, cafeteria and gyri that could meet this need . Peter asked the Committee if they want to get back down to the target? Should we agonize over 2 , 000 sp feet or wait for budget information from Ian's Ray said the Committee should reach a consensus of the size they are comfortable with . The architects feel the net program is a little too big . (Janice Mills joined the meeting , ) Ian said he is concerned about the additional 2 , 000 sq feet. He is sure other things will creep in and by the next stage it may be over by a larger amount. Mr . Frennette said his professional recommendation i s to identify an area contingency. This classroom i s in the heart of the building and it can ' t be pulled out of the design easily . He did suggest the auxiliary gym and some number of seats in the auditorium, those are 2 expensive areas . He does recommend the building be under 183 , 000 right new and that area contingencies be identified . It was decided two meetings ago that the pool and administration offices are above the 183 , 0009 Ray said there is 35 sq feet of storage with every classroom, do you want to reduce the classrooms to 750-760 sq feet , that would save 1 , 750 sq feet? 3
