MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, MARCH 15 , 1994 <br /> TOWN HALE. <br /> Present: Peter D i n i z i o, Merry sue Ah l g ren , Bill Jones , Bill Ma rt i ros <br /> Janice Mills , i , Paul Griffin , Bill Hauck <br /> Absent: Steve Gree 1 i sh , Michael Pare, Joan Tavares <br /> SEAMAN BRAT KO CORP, <br /> Present were Clyde seaman who will be the project manager for this job, Bob <br /> Parris, VP of the estimating department, he will work on the budget and <br /> inspections of the project and Dick Earnese who lives in Mashpee and has <br /> worked with Seaman E ratko for 23 years , Hank waas i n, architect works in <br /> marketing and sales promotion . <br /> Theyjusthave finished a million school in riswold , conn , and Dick <br /> Farnese was the job superintendent" <br /> They presented � <br /> a video to 8 minutes long, explaining the route a project <br /> goes with a General Contractor. Seaman B rat ko is a general contractor and <br /> has handled thousands of projects for themselves. <br /> Bellingham L i b rar <br /> Historical renovation of library i n Everett. <br /> Griswold school - 2 million . <br /> Th <br /> State of Conn , now mandates that a project of more than 4 million <br /> must hire a construction manager. we feel it is a great way to go. <br /> Paul Griffin <br /> clarified for thea that committee is looking for a project <br /> manager not a construction manager . The town must hire a general <br /> contractor with all the filed sub-bids . <br /> Mr, seaman <br /> said that was not his understanding but that is fine. seaman <br /> Eratko will still furnish some of the functions but we will administer them <br /> through our general contractor . The services are the same but not as <br /> extensive . <br /> Mr# seaman said they are- here to answer any questions of the Committee . <br /> They e have submitted all their information and brochures and showed the tape <br /> to tell the committee about the company. <br /> Peter asked if <br /> the h aye done any work similar to what this committee is <br /> asking for? <br /> Mr; seaman said everyday , in all of their jobs. we will be the mediator <br /> general between the <br /> architect contractor and Committee , we will give ou r <br /> � <br /> opinion on what is going on . <br /> Peter asked �f they worked with the architect during the design phase at <br /> � <br /> the Griswold job? They said they did. <br /> Sue asked ghat do you do with the architect during the design phase's <br /> Merry <br /> Mr , seaman said they worked with them on how the design would be put <br /> together , how the construction documents would be put together, look for <br /> ` which might cause conflict later on . Their look for less expensive <br /> things wh� g <br /> wa s to do things, suggest it and talk about it and toll the committee <br /> Y <br /> about it.. Aesthetical we can ' t tell him how to design his building , the <br /> Committee ttee picked them because you like their style , but we can give them <br /> input on the details and on cosh effective su g gest i ons . <br />
