Bill Jones thinks th a s Committee should take the initiative in
establishing the menu . He thinks the architects will be happy to
see it.
Merry sue said the Committee has talked about so many of these
issues but the architect does not know that. we can hard h i m
this let him know what we have brainstormed.
Peter said the committee can communicate their ideas and desires
during the charette process.
Bill Ma rt i ros would like someone who is in charge o f athletics
talk to the committee about it, since it is such a large expense.
Bill Jones noted if you go down this list, it will show who you
need present during that task discussion . This wi i l make the
information more efficient and effective .
Peter re-iterated that Committee members cannot do the day to day
work for this project. The more you become involved with the
de to i s the more your are responsible for them. That is what we
are hiring chartwell ford
SUPERINTENDENT ' S SPACE
This space gets no reimbursement from the State. That will be
about , oB sq feet of space at our own expense. Because the
building will be under utilized for the first 3 years , we are
looking at using a few classrooms for this space .
Merry sue asked where the superintendent will go when the school
becomes full
Br. DeMoura asked if it is possible to have the Superintendent' s
space in the same location , but it does not have to be the same
type of construction as the high school?
Peter said the Architect and project manager do not think there
will be any cost savings. You still reed a slab, utilities and
must meet the code , They estimate it will cost $400 , 000 .
Dr. DeMoura said somewhere along the line; there should be office
space for the school system, with a meeting room for the school
committee. How you arrive at it is your decision. Personally , he
does not care if it is inside or outside the high school ,
Bill Mart i ros does not think you will spend $400 , 000 within the
high schoo l for 3 , 000 sq feet. All the requirements are already
there.
This is an issue that has to be resolved , There has been a lot of
thinking going on about this.
NEXT MEETING: The Committee agreed to meet again on Tuesday,
April 19th at 4 : 00 p. m p
ADJOURNMENT
Merry sue made a motion to adJourn at 5 : 15 p . m, Bi l l
Jones seconded the motion , All members were in favor**
4
