This teaches students <br /> how to take care of kids , not their own , using children in a day <br /> care situation. After 1 : 30 a community group will take over the <br /> program until about 6 : 00 p .m. <br /> -- Infant/toddler program: for students with children so they can <br /> car for their babies and go to school . To help keep them in <br /> school . It is not State mandated . They anticipate about 15 <br /> students using the program. <br /> - applied technology : old industrial arts, home economics <br /> programs . These programs are becoming high tech. The high <br /> school will not repeat the technical school 's responsibility . <br /> - Science: the rooms are classroom lab combination. All are a <br /> little larger than the State requirements. <br /> - Music : 3 teaching stations allocated . <br /> - general classroom: english , math, social studies , foreign <br /> language. Based on 800 sq. ft. <br /> - large group/instructional : room to hold up to 100 students . Can <br /> be used as a community room also. <br /> - health science: part of the phys ed statue. 9th grade is <br /> required to take 5 days a week. <br /> - computer labs : one in each house. Not necessarily part of the <br /> business program. <br /> - special education : is absolutely required . Whole string of <br /> spaces allocated to it. <br /> --IMC/Library: there are guidelines in the regulations. Can see <br /> how he arrived at allowance in companion document. <br /> --cafeteria- must seat 1/3 of the student body at 15 sq feet each . <br /> - administration : principal , assistant principal offices, etc . <br /> Superintendent's office is not in this allowance. The state will <br /> not share in the cost of a central administration space. <br /> He has allowed 6 , 100 sq feet, including School Committee meeting <br /> room. <br /> - alternative school : for problem students; the ones you want to <br /> try to keep in school . <br /> -- central copy: will house 2 large copy machines. <br /> - house administration : "house master" or assistant principal . <br /> Area allocated in each house (3) . <br /> - guidance : not required but every school has it. <br /> -- health suite- nurse's office. This role has expanded in it's <br /> duties . <br /> -gym shower/locker. <br /> - teacher prep/work rooms: area for teacher to work, prepare <br /> lessons. <br /> - faculty lounge <br /> - auditorium- with 700 seats. Not required but very desirable. <br /> - student activity room: not required. He allowed size of a <br /> classroom. <br /> -- student store: student operated. <br /> - central storage: for school supplies, not janitorial . <br /> - book storage <br /> 6 <br />
