MSA HPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING OMMITTEE MINUTES TUESDAY , AUGUST 9 , 1994 TOWN HALL Present; Janice Mills , Merry Sue Ahlgren , Joe Polito , Peter Di ni zia, Paul Griffin , Bill Marti ro , Joan Tavares , Michael Pare A l o Present : Ian Aitchison , D r . Lincoln BeMou ra Greg Taylor , Gus Fredricks , Bill Hauck , E l i a5 McQuaid , Bob wh r i tenour Meeting convened at 4 : 05 p . m. MINUTES Paul made a motion to accept -the minutes of July 6 and August 2 , 1994 , Merry Sue seconded the motion . A 1 1 members were in favor . ** SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS Land Acquisition . Bob wh r i tenou r was present and discussed the problems in getting access to the B rynwood site . Since May he has been trying to reach their attorney . The attorney wanted a special contract before anyone entered the site but then Bob heard nothing from him regarding Tan tiage for the contract . The attorney then refused to tale calls . On August 8th Bolo Whr i teno r wrote the attorney a letter asking again for their permission to enter the site or the Town will begin to persue other~ means. He has contacted town counsel and will initiate anything that needs to be done for the town to eater the site with or without owner pe rmi ion w After faxing the 1 et to r , Bob received a phone call from an associate i n the law firm asking for 1 more day ,. Bob is moving ahead with town counsel . A temporary taking may need to be done . It may cost "the town money but it needs to be done . Paul said delays in getting on the property will cost money also . Appraisers Bob has not talked with the appraiser to get a report on his work . This is an extension of the contract with Casey and Dennis who worked on the site selection process so no REP is necessary . Bob had told him to initiate the work but he does not have a status report Paul said the Committee would like to know when they can expect a full report from the appraiser . An offer to the land owners will be based on this app ra i a 1 . The Selectmen have the general authority to move forward and town counse 1 is drafting an article for town meeting . The Board agreed to air the Selectmen to take immediate action to get access onto the Brynwood property . r Paul made a. motion to inform the e 1 ec tmeln that due to lack of ability to get On the site , there may be project delays and ask there to -take any action necessary to obtain access onto the B r y nwood site . Merry Sue seconded the motion . All members were in favor . **
