Lincoln DeMoura, Greg Taylor , <br /> Bill Hauck , Tom Fudal a <br /> Meeting convened at 4 : 12 p .m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Merry sue made a motion to approve the minutes of August 9 , 1919144 <br /> Janice seconded the motion . All members were in favor . ** <br /> COMM1 I TT E� DISCUSSION <br /> Michael Pare subi,-ii tted a letter outlining his view f what is needed to <br /> accomplish the technology design and his interpretation of what is under <br /> the scope of se ry i cos for Childs and sM11,111A . Steve Gree l i sh , being the other <br /> member of the technology subcommittee , will review i t. <br /> There was a meeting today on the Title V/treatment plant question ; Ian , <br /> Greg Taylor ,, E 1 i as McQuaid , Mark Pare and Kelly Whalen attended , Ian was <br /> told the Title V system i s out , for various reasons . This directive came <br /> from the Selectmen . The options are continue with the plant as proposed or <br /> reduGe the flow of the plant, i n which case they would have to apply for a <br /> variance f ron) DEP. The savings would be small . <br /> Ian suggested continuing with the design of the proposed plant but <br /> determine , from -the other schools who are hav i nq problems w i tip their <br /> plants , ghat those problems are so they don ' t occur with this p 1 ant . <br /> Getting a variance involves a lot of effort and a lot of t i me i <br /> Steve Gree 1 i sh , who was not prese4nt at last weeks meeting , was surprised <br /> the Board of Health considered a conventional system. The Si we of this <br /> plant was the .issue . if you use the DEP fo rM l a, it is so inefficient that <br /> the plant does not work properly `i . e sandwich and Nauset. The issue is <br /> what should be the size of the plant. There are fixed costs , but there are <br /> some size differences that could Provide cost savings . We want the plant <br /> to run efficiently . We can rake an argument with the CEP as to the size of <br /> the plant. <br /> Ian asked if that will take more time to get approvals? <br /> Stere does not think it will add significant timet <br /> Peter asked what gallonage should it bead <br /> That needs review , a cooperative effort by the engineers . <br /> Paul asked if the plumbing department had the true -flows , based on the <br /> fixtures that will be in the building? <br /> Ian said it will be about 8 , 000 gall ons per day . <br /> Khat will the total student capaC.-ity be with an addition? <br /> Ed said the addition could add a house 550 more students ip <br />
