It <br /> has changed a 1 of f rom 1 a5 t week <br /> Dan to] d the comm i ttee to keep i n mind that 1 andscapi ng w! 11 al so he 1 p keep <br /> the scale down . <br /> SMMA will explore more provocative drawings and or different app roaches to <br /> the materials and roofs . <br /> Dan presented the land acquisition drawing and the changes made since last <br /> meeting , confirming what was discussed ., <br /> The bold black 1in represented the acquisition area, The 1 i ne runs 50 <br /> feet south of the track , 75 feet south of the tennis courts and 75 feet <br /> south of the football field . <br /> He presented a plan showing the land near the Quashnet river that is within <br /> some conservation jurisdiction . There is a potential by the owner for <br /> exchange for development rights . That is for the Committee to take to the <br /> table during negotiationsd <br /> He has g 1 vel-n a set of these plans to the Town Planner and he is Blend i n <br /> them to the appraiser . <br /> The Committee agreed this plan rep resents what they asked for . <br /> Steve suggested Dan also give copies to the Executive Secretary ,, <br /> PROJECT MANAGER <br /> Ian explained SMMA received a request from the Division of Fisheries and <br /> Wildlife to do a survey for the water willow plant, which is the only food <br /> Sou roe of the water willow borer , a threatened species , <br /> They received an estimate of $800 . 00 to do the survey and flag the position <br /> of the plants ,. <br /> The State senses they are somewhere on the site . <br /> What if some are found on i te? <br /> Bob said they will report that in the ENE and it will then be decided if <br /> r4emed i al action should be taken <br /> Dick Foster said they are u5ually found in wetlands and he thinks they will <br /> be ,'ust south of the school s i to w <br /> Paul made a motion to authorize SMMA to spend $800 , 00 ( plus 10 <br /> markup ) to do a survey for the water willow plant to come from <br /> re i mbu r ab 1 es . Merry Sue seconded the motion . A 1 1 members were - in <br /> favor . * <br /> A preliminary ar heol og i cal survey has been completed of the site but the <br /> MA Historic ommi ion is recommending that a more intensive survey be <br /> completed . SMMA received a proposal for $11 , 76.9 , 00 . <br /> Bob Fournier explained the MA Historical Commi ion contacted D A during <br /> the site selection and said they have reason to believe there may be <br /> archeological findings on the site and it would have to be investigated ,, <br /> They will do ex tens i ve digging on site and report their findings . <br /> Paul said if they don ' t do the survey and then find something dU r i ng <br /> excavation , they will have to stop the project. <br />
