Mr. Kirwin said he has 3 changes to make to the project and has spoken to
Joel about them:
- Delete the double splitter at the teachers workstation, add a jumper
cable from the teachers position to the TV to allow easy access from
computer to TV screen.
- Change the cabling pipe from mid split to sub split and this might cause
a change in the distribution amplifier.
- Originally there was a scissor lift in the center of the auditorium for
video projection, he now proposes a higher power projection in the control
room in the back of the auditorium, and associated changes .
Mr. Kirwin would like to be on the agenda for the next few meetings to
discuss continued progress of technology and he will follow the discussion
on potential schedule changes . He will try to stay sensitive to the bid
time so as not to go out to bid too early before purchase.
He will coordinate with Tom Wren how much time he needs on an agenda.
Bill thinks there is a lot of money and effort on video production, is
there an end to all this effort for the students?
Principal Williams said trends in curriculum are towards career
exploration. There will be courses available in this area. Dr. DeMoura
added they would like students to be versed in using various types of
technology not just computers . They may, for example have to do a multi
media project as a graduation requirement.
Mike Pietrowski said this school will be the first high school chapter of
SEMPTI and will be introduced to the latest trends in the motion picture
and TV industry.
Peter expects the technology to be used to deliver educational material to
students , not to make them into production engineers .
(Peter left the meeting )
Tom Wren asked if any of these proposed changes and associated change
orders, will impact the schedule?
Paul said they will soon be starting the interior studding in the
classrooms , if there is anything which will effect it , it should be done
ASAP.
Joel and Michael Kirwin will work it out.
CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
Alan Scott is Stone ' s project manager and will be assuming all the day to
day operations as project manager. He is on site full time, every day. He
has been with Stone for 12 years , has worked on projects over $33 million
and has a lot of experience . He is preparing a 30 schedule and has a rough
draft ready for review.
Bob Barthelmes is working on change orders and there is another person
working on shop drawings .
Jim Byrne gave a project update. Crews have worked over the last two
weekends , 8 hours on Saturdays and 5 hours one Sunday. The water main is
in and chlorinated. L. Lynch is working to get the gravel down and hope to
pave next week. The steel is progressing .
Mr. Scott explained they poured the second floors in derrick 1 , 2 , and 4 , 3
4
