v
MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE
Tuesday, March 14, 1995
Page 7
of the drawings are very clear, but A-02 and A-02 were very muddy and were hard to read.
Phil stated that they had redone the symbol so it is more clear. She stated that item #23,
the partition types being coordinated with the fire ratings of the walls that are delineated in
that drawing. Item #24, in the gymnasium, she had some difficulty in understanding in
determining what dimensions were needed for locating all of the various items in the gym
and the locker rooms, and also she was not fully clear on whether everything that was being
shown was in fact intended as built in or whether any of it was intended as part of the FF&E.
Item ## 9, regarding the door schedule, Shannon agreed with Bill that she also had difficulty
getting through the door schedule, especially item ##31, there were not lock sets included on
the gym and the auditorium and some of the other major spaces. she would assume that
they would want to be able to lock those spaces off. Phil stated that locks were a part of the
panic device. Another item was if there was any interest in having any sound gasket at
some of the noisy areas. Phil stated that it was in there and that it has been updated. Phil
said that as a general comment one of the things that happened between the 24th and the
8th is that every single partition type was reviewed and every door and hardware set was
reviewed and there were changes that have taken place. Joe asked if in the set that they
now have are these items clear. Phil said that based on the comments that he heard at this
meeting that there are certain things he will go back and check but the hardware sets and
the doors he checked so he knows they did take place, Ed stated that they had a specific
approach to checking the drawings and that they had fresh eyes check the drawings in
order to get complete and accurate sets when they are done and stated he will discuss that
after Shannon is dome with her comments. Shannon continued with item #38, that there
was some difficulty in understanding when more than one material is being called out as for
example, carpet, concrete, and rubber'tile on the floor of the auditorium, the present plan
did not indicate inhere one started and one stopped. Also, the stage detailing which is
called out as being wood, the structural drawing showed as beim slab and it was not clear
with the elevations being shown. Item ##44, interior elevations, the set she had was lacking
a lot of information regarding heights, levels, and materials. Ed stated that this was an area
he checked and also was an area that was affected by the cost cutting measures. Ed
stated that a lot of these items were a function of risking significant cuts late in the game,
On item 7, Shannon stated that in the spec it called out for different acoustical the types
but on the plans it does not indicate where one type would be used. Phil stated that there
was a legend in the very last paragraph of the spec that says unless otherwise noted herein
all ceiling tile shall be Type 1 and then it lists where Type 2 and Type 3 are. Item ##50, in
general, Shannon stated there was still dimensioning that was needed related to ceilings.
Ed stated they try to never dimension things twice and if it was picked up on the plan they
will never put it in the ceiling plan to prevent the potential for conflict. Regarding items 61
through 66, she covered previously. Regarding the Structural, Shannon commented that
other than there appeared that there needed to be some additional structural information
sections for details relative to the canopies, she did not have anything else needed to
comment on. Shannon continued with the civil section, she did not get a chance to talk with
Thad. She stated that he had some comments regarding the two-way travel lane should be
24' gide, item #9. Ed stated that they will respond to that. Shannon said that Thad
commented that a fence should be located around the detention basin, item #11. Paul said
they determined that they were not going to do that. Also, he said, item #23, it right be
desirable to place conduit cinder the track to be used for irrigation or lighting without
disrupting the track. Paul asked if they would have any instance where any lighting
between the track and the football field would be necessary. Shannon stated that the
remainder of the Civil section should be reviewed and that she did not have any further
comments on that section. Shannon stated that the Mechanical and Electrical sections
contained a lot of little details but no maJor comments needed to be made. Paul agreed that
they did not need to go through those sections as the mechanical people were not present
