MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES <br /> AUGUST 27 , 1996 <br /> HIGH SCHOOL SITE <br /> Present : Merry Sue Ahlgren , Peter Dinizio , Janice Mills , Steve Greelish, <br /> Paul Griffin, Joe Polito <br /> Also Present : Tom Wren, Jim Byrne , Ian Aitchison , Elias McQuaid , Bill. <br /> Hauck, John Williams , Mike Pietrowski , Manny Tavares , Terry Cook , Kathy <br /> Lynch, Maryanne McDonald <br /> Meeting convened at 4 : 04 p .m. <br /> Paul mentioned the sad passing of Bill Jones . <br /> Peter told the Committee he visited Bill about 1 month ago and told him his <br /> name would be on the plaque on the high school . Betty was happy about that . <br /> MINUTES <br /> Merry Sue made a motion to accept the minutes of July 30 and August <br /> 12 . Joe seconded the motion. All members were in favor 6-0** <br /> F F & E <br /> Tom explained that he had asked Mike Kirwin to attend this meeting (and <br /> faxed his request) but he is not in attendance . <br /> Tom said there is one issue that remains unresolved . 3 software packages <br /> were single source bids , and there should be 3 bids . CCR sent out bid <br /> packages but had no replies . This may be a special case for the town to <br /> consider. <br /> ,Tim explained the telephones are operational as of today but he will not <br /> hook them up yet . He will begin to put them in over the next few days . <br /> Paul asked Tom to tell CCR we need the instruction manuals for the phones <br /> to give to the teachers . <br /> Jim mentioned that he is still waiting for a schedule from CCR. <br /> John Williams said he will need a few computers to open the school with. <br /> He mentioned it to Mike Kirwin who said he would get right on it . <br /> UPDATE FROM MANNY TAVARES <br /> The Committee reviewed the most recent bids received . <br /> Manny explained there are 3-4 items they did not receive competitive <br /> bidding on, it was out of line with the budget . <br /> Paul asked why the docu tech is in here? <br /> Mike Pietrowski said the subcommittee , at a meeting in November discussed <br /> it and decided to bid it to see what the price would be . <br /> Manny said the unit costs $283 , 000 plus the maintenance is excessive . <br /> Manny suggested buying off of the State contract , that way they will all be <br /> the same manufacture which is better for maintenance purposes . <br /> 1 <br />
