MASHPEE HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES MONDAY, FEBRUARY 12 , 1996 TOWN HALL Present : Merry Sue Ahlgren, Joe Polito , Bill Martiros, Janice Mills , Steve Greelish, Peter Dinizio , Paul Griffin Also Present : Jim Byrne, Joel Seeley, Ed Frenette , John Williams, Ian Aitchison, Bill Hauck, Bob Whritenour, Dr. Petti Meeting convened at 4 : 07 p.m. CONTRACTOR' S PAYMENT REQUISITION ** Paul made a motion to forward to the Selectmen for their approval and payment Stone ' s payment requisition for $1 ,455 , 670 . Merry Sue seconded the motion. Steve asked if all outstanding issues have been taken care of? Paul said Stone' s original request was for $1 . 9 million but was cut to $1 . 4 million which represents the amount necessary to remedy the work to date . Stone has provided the waiver of liens and employment information. ** All members were in favor 7--0** Paul discussed what has transpired since the last meeting. On January 31st there was a meeting with Cashin Assoc . (Mike Spinelli ) , consultant to Liberty Mutual , Stone , Chartwell , SMMA and Paul . The bottom line is Stone was still not willing to commit . Merry Sue asked if Mike Spinelli did what he was there to do? Paul, said he was there to size up the situation; to see if there was any areas to bring us (town, Stone) together. Two hours were spent just discussing deficiencies . Stone made their hole deeper on those issues . When that meeting concluded, there was a second meeting between Paul. , David Patrick, Alan Scott and Mike Spinelli . Mr. Spinelli did not understand Stone , he did not think the owners are being difficult. There are only 3 areas the owners want Stone to expedite , interior and exterior studding and interior masonry. Stone feels there is no problem with interior masonry, they feel they are on track. Paul explained, at the end of the meeting , when Ston* said they are not prepared to loose any more money on this job, he lost it. At last week' s job meeting Stone said they now do not plan to heat the auditorium/gym wing. They will only provide locational heating where the trades are working. They will heat room by room. Peter said their schedule showed that area to be closed in by December 15 are they gust going to ignore their schedule? Paul said they have built one room using that method and the heater went out and there is the potential the masonry froze and it may have to come down.
