Y A Y Paul asked Linda, who has seen CIO's statement of work, what she thinks is a realistic date for completion? Linda said there is one item that is 300 hours. She is not sure what the Committee means by finished. CIC is putting up a skeleton of a network then the teachers, administrators and staff will fill it in and start to use it. There is a blurry line between completed product and what will be working for the students Paul asked contractually, has CIC met their obligation to get us up and working: Linda said the school is up and working. This is where you want to be. Let thorn finish installation and hand over to the people who are educated or else it will not trickle down to the bids. It should be handed over to a team that understands how to use it. Paul said school vacation is Feb. 17-2 1, we need a real dedication that the system will be running and CIC will be substantially complete by Feb. 22,d. we will not put up with another delay. He wants this brought to a resolution before the students get back. Steve said there needs to be education. One mistake can be very costly. People are unplugging printers and moving therm and moving machines. Realistically we will continually have some problems and it will be difficult to handle unless there is someone dere to deal with it. Paul wants to be sure Steve, Mike I Irwin and Computers without Fear have a performance test to deternine if CIC has met their requirements, Mike Kirwin said he should be able to recommend that the subs are substantially complete by February 4'. CIC is in control of their own destiny regarding substantial completion. Paul said this Committee has a history of getting rid of people who don't perform. If CIC does not perforin, we will entertain finding someone who will. Peter asked the breakdown of CIO's contract, labor vs. equipment. It is about 30-70 labor-equipment. The equipment has been delivered. we are waiting for service. Kevin said they are delivering service,just not as quickly as the Committee would like. Paul asked if CIC had a time frame for completion in their contract, a certain date? Mike said it was tied to the date of order and delivery. Paul asked if they have exceeded those dates? mike said they have. Peter suggested having town counsel send thein a letter. Now,they have no financial incentive to put 2 or 3 people on this job, Paul said the letter should come from SN4NM as the architect in charge of the project. Paul said now that the exchange package has been found, CIC can re-visit all 202 computers. Janice explained that Dr, DeMoura has asked Computers Without Fear to join to the interviews of the network administrator position. They are reasonably close to hiring someone.
