7th and 8th graders to participate with -12 grades in any extra curricular <br /> activities, clubs,, athletics, or any other services currenfly available to there. <br /> Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Grady re-clarified the following: <br /> 7th and 8th graders remain at MHS <br /> There is the distinction of Mashpee Middle School <br /> separate principal <br /> 8th graders will not be members of high school organizations <br /> Mr. Bailey suggested adding that the Committee has identified $65,000 for co- <br /> curricular, <br /> - <br /> eurri ula , extra curricular, and athletic programs specifically for 7th and 8th <br /> graders. <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw clarified that the amount is actually $42,000. <br /> There was discussion that Mr. Mare llits proposal does not allow for any <br /> exceptions. There was discussion of trying to case the transition for students, <br /> and that a waiver would only be for a handful of students. <br /> Mr. Mar elli withdrew his motion <br /> Mr. Bailey made a motion, seconded by Mrs.. Mills, to move that grades 7&8 <br /> remain at Mashpee High School with the current distinction of Mashpee Middle <br /> School as recorded with the Department of Education with more focus on <br /> academie., social and behavioral reeds of students. There remains a separate <br /> grade principal. In so far as athletics teams will be set up where appropriate, <br /> where teams or clubs cannot be established, and parent's request, a waiver will be <br /> granted for grade 8 students only, on a ease-by-ease basis for one year only, and a <br /> second year will not be allowed. Extra and co-curricular will be set up within the <br /> &8th grade structure. leo other grades will be affected. The Committee mittee will <br /> accept the additional recommendations outlined by Mr. Babbitt at the last <br /> meeting. Extra-curricular and -curricular will not be allowed to join any high <br /> school club. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mrs. Grady brought forth the request for approval for the 8th grade trip t <br /> Washington IAC on 3/22/09-3/26/09. 1 <br /> Mrs. Mills made a motion, seconded by Mr. Bailey to approve this f"ieldtrip. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> X Wastewater Treatment Update <br /> Mrs. Bradshaw informed the Committee that Earth Tech did re-delineate the Zone <br /> 11.
