i i Mashpee Middle School School Council Minutes —January 19, 2012 Attendance: Sheila Arnold, Patricia 1 lorano, Kim Daigneault, Pauline Reilly, Mona Lisa Valentino Absent—Kevin Frere, Laura Franks The meeting convened at 2:1 pm. The Council agreed to change the order of the meeting to facilitate a presentation on the Budget roving other Business to the top of the agenda. Superintendent Bradshaw came to address the school council regarding the FY 13. She explained that the FY13 budget would be a maintenance budget. She reviewed PowerPoint slide with information on the budget information sharing process, approval process and what goes into putting the budget together. She went on to explain line item and categories as they applied to the whole district and then to the middle school. Committee unanimously approved minutes of the December 15,2011 Meeting. Communications: Old Business Information was shared with the council on how vire will proceed with future discussions for a uniform type dress at the Middle School. Mrs. Arnold informed the Council that consideration of a uniform type dress was presented to the School Committee on January f , 2012. At the School Committee meeting, Mrs. Arnold stated that she would like a vote of 90% of the parents in favor of the new policy in order to proceed with the policy. The Quashnet School will hold an informational forum on January 31, 2012 and the Middle School will hold theirs on March 1., 2012 at 6:00 pin. Parents for students who are currently in grade 6 and grade 7 will be invited to give their input, voice concerns and review possible ways to get the most input and accurate voting. -The council also agreed to review the current handbook, for discussion at the next meeting as to possible changes, additions or deletions to the current handbook.
