Adopting educational goals for the school that are consistent with local educational policies and statewide student <br /> performance standards <br /> 2.. Identifying the educational reeds of students attending the school <br /> 3. Reviewing the annual school building budget <br /> . Formulating a school improvement plan <br /> Handouts: <br /> A. "Agenda <br /> Minutes <br /> 1. Further I l cusslon� a kion of the Quashnet School's Mission Statement <br /> We will be working on this next year. A small group of staff members will be getting together to process the <br /> data collected from the staff and to plan action steps: <br /> A. What a sixth grader should look like when he/she is leaving Quashnet—socially, emotionally,, <br /> behaviorally, academically <br /> B. What each grade level student should look like when he/she is moving on to the next grade—socially, <br /> temotionally,behaviorally, and academically <br /> C. What policies and procedures do we currently have in place that help or hinder our getting our <br /> students to where we want them to be <br /> D. What individual teacher classroom practices help or hinder our getting our students to where we want <br /> them to be <br /> �. Reflection of School Year 2011-2012 <br /> //most challenging issue faced—School Uniforms <br /> The parent meetin (1/31/12)allowed voices a heard; however,the "majority" who had <br /> y <br /> indicated through our surveys that they were in favor of school uniforms did not choose to attend. The <br /> intent of this parent meeting was to provide interested parties with an opportunity for,their voices to be <br /> heard. It was not meant to be a decision-raking meeting; however, it becarne one because of the presence <br /> of a school committee member and his input into the discussion. . <br /> 3. Looking Forward—Planning for School Year.2012-2013 <br /> Curriculum <br /> Integrating/implementing the common core curriculum standards LA,Math,, Science) <br /> Increased rigor <br /> Comore assessments <br /> Standards-based report card system <br /> Council's role will be to support the changes and provide positive cornrnunication to parents <br /> Elementary Literacy Coach—Work to have this position added to the school budget for FY,1 <br /> 4. other <br /> Thank you to all current Quashnet School Council members for your service and support.
