S <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes { <br /> October 4, 2010 <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Request to Enhance Police Patrols—Sea Dabs Condominiums: <br /> Correspondence was re el ed from the American Properties Tearn, Inc. <br /> dated August 28, 2010 on behalf of the Sea Oaks Condo iniurn, 19 5 <br /> Falmouth Road, Mashpee requesting the Selectmen authorize the Chief of <br /> Police to direct enhanced patrols and enforcement of posted speed limits <br /> within the condominium complex. <br /> It was disclosed the Board of Selectmen have not accepted the streets <br /> within the Sea Oaks.Condos n" fi rn complex for enforcement as they are <br /> deemed private ways.. 3 <br /> Rodney Collins, Chief of Police was in attendance to review this matter <br /> with the Board of Selectmen. In accordance with MA general Law } <br /> Chapter 90, Section 18,the Board of Selectmen has the authority to <br /> empower the Police Department to enforce speed regulations. phis is an <br /> enforcement mechanism to enforce speed regulations,and there is no <br /> favoritism td increase patrols at the subject site location. <br /> It was disclosed that an opinion was obtained from Town Counsel without <br /> objection with respect to this regard. Chief Collins recommended the <br /> Selectmen's approval on the bans of inspection of the area and notice <br /> from the Sea Dabs Board of Trustees. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to accept the request of Sea <br /> Oaks Condomilftlum,and empower the Mashpee Police Department to <br /> enforce speed regulations posted on the property, 195 Falmouth Road, <br /> Mashpee. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectmen Richardson. <br /> TE: Unanl us. -o. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Cook.,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes <br /> Selectman Richardson,yes Selectman Taylor,yes <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes opposed,none <br />
