Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 8, 2011 <br /> APPOINTMENTS TMENTS HEARINGS: <br /> FDIC—Discussion on Transfer of -acre Parcel: <br /> Theresa Cook, Chair of the Economic Development and Industrial Corporation <br /> (EDIT)was M* attendance with committee members Mary LeClair, Robyn <br /> Simmons and Robert Walsh to review matters pertaining to Town ,-owned <br /> properties located in the Mashpee Industrial Part . Ton Counsel,Patrick <br /> Costello was also present for discussion purposes. <br /> In October of Zoo , Town Meeting authorized the transfer of Ton-owned land <br /> located at 117 Industrial /;give to the Mashpee ERIC to allow the Economic <br /> Development and Industrial Corporation to formally assume control and use of <br /> the property for the purposes specified in its enabling legislation, including <br /> possible development o the site, sale o the property to generate seed money for <br /> the purchase of other.developablelands and/or for the co�enc ent of <br /> development initiatives elsewhere in Mashpee. <br /> . <br /> It was noted the deed pertaining to the above referenced parcel of land consisting <br /> of 2.66 acres+/- as voted by the October 2008 Town Meeting has not been <br /> executed and drafted to date. As a result,Town Counsel was directed to move <br /> forward with the recording of the subject property. <br /> Discussion followed with respect to the Mashpee Industrial Park and the possible <br /> transfer of a -acre parcel,tax taking land presently under control of the Board of <br /> Selectmen to the RMC for its control and use. The Board was advised if the <br /> Town were to convey title or an interest in the -acre property to the FDIC,the <br /> Selectmen would have the ability to condition the Town Meeting vote to retain a <br /> certain level of review. Also,this action if supported it would'require a 23 d,s <br /> vote of Town Meeting. <br /> The ERIC indicated that presently a brow-level of uses are being considered at <br /> the -acre site which may require re-zoning. Town Counsel indicated he would <br /> review specific uses of said property in tens of zoning. <br /> Upon further review, the Board of Selectmen recon i-riended the EDIC move <br /> forward to advertise for the purpose of soliciting possible"expressions of <br /> interest"at this particular location and thea further, develop a Mahle plan for the <br /> Selectmen's consideration at the May 2012 Town Meeting. <br />
