Board of Selectmen <br /> 4 <br /> Minutes <br /> April 9, 2012 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS:' <br /> GS <br /> AmeriCorpsUpdate: <br /> Representatives from the AeriCrps Cape Cod program-announced that <br /> proposals are currently being received for group service projects this calendar <br /> service year. AmeriCorps Cape Cod is a full-time residential service program <br /> dedicated to addressing the natural resource management and disaster <br /> preparedness/response needs of Cape Cod and its communities. <br /> Each year, the program recruits twenty-six educated and spilled members to <br /> participate in hands-on projects with pudic, non-profit and community used <br /> organizations. There is no cost to the community for AmeriCorps Cape Cod <br /> services. <br /> This past year in Mashpee, Amen"Corps participated in the W.E.T. Fest with <br /> elementary level students. This educational project involved water-themed <br /> activities to teach students about-the importance of water conservation. The <br /> AmeriCorps volunteers also assisted Richard York, the Shellfish Constable with <br /> various oyster and quahog propagation projects. <br /> The Board of Selectmen expressed appreciation to the AmeriCorps volunteers for <br /> their support and dedication to the present and past group service projects. <br /> 6:3 5 p.m. Selectman Richardson present. <br />
