Current Environment- (10 minute <br /> . i a hp a Public School Preschool Program <br /> Per Michele,we have 75 slots currently in the current Mashpee pre-school program and an additional <br /> slots in the early special education program. They are currently using 4 classrooms, have 3.7 teachers <br /> and 5.7 paraprofessionals s u p po rtil ng these programs. <br /> b. IdIlb <br /> Per Peggy,vire have currently have 73 kids in total in KidsClub. There are 23 four year-olds currently in <br /> the progra m who are Mas hpee residents. In addition,they offer both pre and post-school progra ms for <br /> lids. <br /> c. other Preschool Programs <br /> Head Start uses 1 classroom at KC Combs and currently has 18 kids. <br /> d. Demographics <br /> Census data from the Torn Clerk was discussed showing approximately 55 kids age 4 and 5. Joyce <br /> Mason was going to foIIow-up to see if more current information was availabl e. <br /> . Case Study and Analyses—( 10 minutes) <br /> The following articles were distributed as part of the meeting package and David briefly tallied about the <br /> overall findings which indicate the substantial positive impact on low-income kids. Elaine also <br /> commented that kids who have attended the public school pre-school program see m to have a n easier <br /> time adjusting to Kindergarten because they are familiar with the school and the consistency in the <br /> curriculum. <br /> a.
