Discussion—Quashnet School S <br /> ■ Tuners on exterior doors have been disabled. <br /> ■ School buses provide parking lot bard r at dismissal. We hope our bus drivers are diligent in looking at the parking <br /> lot in the afternoon—prior to students walking out—anything oo cer ing. <br /> 8 We are very connected to our bus dr'vers. They let us know in the moming if a student does not seem to be <br /> himself/herself. <br /> ■ Council members support having a uniformed armed police officer at the Quashnet School to build relationships <br /> with students and to be ars on-site first-responder, if needed. <br /> ■ Staff members are expected to display their badge on their person every day, all day. They are also expected to <br /> have their whistle and key on there at all times. The key opens all interior doors. <br /> ■ As of this date, each staff me bees key also opens the front main entrance door to Quashnet. <br /> ■ FOBs will be given out very shortly that will open ashcet}s front main entrance door and the back cafeteria door <br /> during school hours. if a FOB is lost, it can be disabled. The front door look is being charged—staff members <br /> keys will only unlock/lock interior doors. <br /> ■ Quashnet parking lot lighting is poor—will request that the town assess the fighting. <br /> 0 Code Red Drills—Planned for first week of February. <br /> ■ Building security during non-school hours remains a concern (Building use by programs approved by the <br /> Recreational Department) <br /> ■ What updates specific to safety will be needed for our Parent/Student landbook? <br /> N l lasbpee Safety Task Force—What impact will this groups decisions have on our school? <br /> 2. Begin review of SY12,13 Parent/Student Hand ok—Adj s ent areas for next year <br /> All Council members present were given a copy of the 2012-2013 Parent/Student Handbook to review prior to our next <br /> t <br /> neeting ooking specifically for any areas that need to be updated. <br /> .
