Su pen"ritendentBrad r—Review.of FYI 4 Proposed Budget <br /> ■ Mrs. Bradshaw presented the proposed FY14 maintenance school budget. $19,658,573 3% <br /> ■ This budget number includes maintaining current staff and programs. <br /> = Proposal to add a School Resource officer($82K)--4f added to school budget: $19,740,573 <br /> ■ Major variations from FY 13 8 udg t: <br /> o Transportation-443,436 <br /> o EASC Nisi#--$20,000 <br /> o Phone, lnte et--$17;000 <br /> ■ Budget changes F g -FYI3 were reviewed <br /> Quashnet School Parent/Student Hand ooh--Changes for S 1 ,1 <br /> We reviewed all pages of the S 12-13 ParenUStudent Handbook---changes to be made were discussed and noted. <br /> Quashnet School Nurse, Pat Sbares, has reviewed the "Health (School Nurse)"section of the handbook and has <br /> submitted her recommended changes. Still to be determined—any necessary changes to the "Grading (Report <br /> Cards)"and "Recognition for Achievernenf handbook sections that may be needed as a result of our adopting a new <br /> standards-based report card for communicating student progress to parents/students. <br /> 3. School safety <br /> We discussed the Code Red drills taking puce this week. We are planning to practice code Fled drills with our <br /> students in the outdoor recess setting—as soon as the weather is better. we wart to not only explain the puns, but <br /> also to physically'practice in each of our outdoor play locations. Cafeteria practice has taken place, Our students and <br /> staff were excellent during all practice dr*lls. We vAll hold a monthly code Red practice driii for the balance of the <br /> school year. <br /> 4. Preliminary Wor uNashnet School Report card Redesign <br /> School council teacher representatives Ms. Lo f and Mrs. Littleton also both serve on our report card redesign . <br /> committee. We are currently working to develop a standards-based report card that will provide more detailed <br /> intrmatioln to parents and students as to learning strengths and challenges. As wemove forward, input from all <br /> teachers and parent will be sought.
