Any question that received less than 0%in the"Agree" <br /> a "Strongly Agrees,categories needs further analysis—considered unacceptable. We need to develop <br /> a plan to get higher scores. We discussed and agreed upon the following next steps: <br /> A. Survey results will be shared with Quashnet School staff(3/10) <br /> B. Staff will break into groups; analyze specific questions; ponder the why behind the low rating and <br /> develop a specific action plan that will lead to an improved score. (3/24) <br /> C. Survey results will be posted on our websit /blog. (3/31 <br /> . Parents will be notified to review the results—electronically and by paper notice (3/31) <br /> E. We will run the survey again after encouraging greater parent participation (April) <br /> SY14,15 Plan nlng'—spe lals <br /> For SY1 4-15 we will maintain our current -day specials cycle in order to accommodate common planning time for <br /> grade-level teachers and also to allow all students In the same grade to participate in band, chorus, and strings together. <br /> Specials planned (may change with further input from staff: <br /> Physical Education <br /> Art <br /> General Music or Band, Chorus, Strings <br /> Computers Keyboarding, Coding, Excel, Word Processing, other technical skills <br /> STEM—Science, Engineering, Math Exploration, Robotics <br /> Research Skills/Study Skills/Organizational Skills (Library/Computers)—Project Based <br /> The science special that we have had for the past few years for grades 3-5 will be eliminated, health for sixth graders <br /> will be merged into PE and also into 6th Grade classroom science. We will no longer have writing as a special. <br /> 5t'and 6th graders will participate in a web-based, 'interactive foreign language program 2x per week for 30 minutes per <br /> session. Homeroom teachers will receive training and will take their students to the computer lab. With the exception of <br /> departmentalized classrooms, one session will be taken from ELA and the other from math time. For departmentalized <br /> classrooms, we can alternate weeks—first week both sessions come out of ELA block, second week, bath sessions come <br /> out of math block. Students will have user nares and passwords allowing for extra exploration at hone. <br />
