Mashpee Waterways Commission Minutes <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Minutes of the August 14=1,, 2018 Meeting <br /> Chairman Bates called the meeting to order at 9:00 AM at the Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Ken Bates, Don Barton,Stan Healy, Don MacDonald,Steve Mone <br /> Absent: Al Wickel,Tire Leedham <br /> Also in attendance:AI Turner, Harbormaster,Asst. Harbormaster, Rick Santangelo,Ashley Fisher, <br /> Shellfish Constable <br /> Don MacDonald made a motion to approve the minutes of July 10th, 2018 and was 2^4 by Stan Healy, <br /> and unanimously approved. <br /> Communications and Correspondence: <br /> Ken Bates received an invoice from BSC in the amount of$816.50 for payment of services for the update <br /> of the Comprehensive Dredge Permit. A motion was made by Don MacDonald for approval for Ken to <br /> submit this billing for payment. Stan Healy 2�d the motion and there was unanimous approval. <br /> Ken Bates stated that he had received from the Town Clerks Office, a letter of appreciation concerning <br /> the new Great River Boat Ramp. The note commented on the improvements the new ramp offered and <br /> especially the accommodations for handicap access by boaters. <br /> Old Business <br /> Harbormaster Report: <br /> Al Turner gave the following report: <br /> MASHPEE WAKEBY <br /> STAFFING FOR PATROLS HAS BEEN INCREASED CONSIDERABLY ON WEEKENDS DUE TO COMPLAINTS FROM <br /> RESIDENTS ON THE POND ABOUT RECKLESS OPERATION OF PERSONAL WATERCRAFT AND VESSELS NOT ADHERING <br /> TO NO WAKE ZONES, NUMEROUS VESSELS HAVE BEEN STOPPED,SAFETY INSPECTIONS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED, <br /> AND CITATIONS HAVE BEEN ISSUED FOR MORE SERIOUS VIOLATIONS. <br /> 50HP LIMIT,7 YEAR EXCEPTION FOR RESIDENTS OF THE LAKE AN OPTION WE SHOULD REALLY CONSIDER <br /> PURSUING. EPO'S ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE.Changes would have to be approved by the State <br /> I HAVE CONTACTED STATE ONCE AGAIN ABOUT FILLING IN LARGE HOLE FROM PROPWASH OFF OF THE RAMP AND <br /> HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY ANSWER OF YET. <br /> JOHNS POND <br /> OUR OFFICE HAS RECEIVED COMPLAINTS ABOUT RECKLESS PWC OPERATION HERE AND THERE;HOWEVER,IT HAS <br /> BEEN VERY SLOW COMPARED TO LAST YEAR AND MANY RESIDENTS HAVE NOTED THIS AND THANKED US. <br /> ASHUMET POND <br />
