r <br /> M'ashpee Waterways Commission <br /> .Minutes of the November 12,2013 Meeting <br /> Chairman Ken Bates called the meeting to order at 9:10 AM at the 1ashpee Town Hall. <br /> Present were: Ken Bates,Bill Taylor,'Tim Leedham and Don MacDonald <br /> Absent:AL wl l el,Steve Pinard and Paul Zammito <br /> Also present:Shellfish Constable Rick York and Harbormaster Stephen Mone <br /> Noted unanimous approval of minutes of the October 8, 2013 meeting. Motion made by Tiny <br /> Leedharn,second by Bill Taylor. <br /> Ken Bates circulated current mail and correspondence that included plans-for a new <br /> walkway located at 266 I► onornoscoy Island Ind. <br /> motion was made by Tire Leedharn to approve contingent upon bylaws and comments <br /> made by the ZBA,Conservation Commission, Harbormaster and shellfish Constable and <br /> any other town department involved in.the review. Mr;Bates asked the Harbormaster if he <br /> had done a review and if he had any concerns. He said he had done a re-view. Mr. Bates <br /> asked the shellfish Constable the same and he said he had done a review. The motion was <br /> seconded by Bill'Taylor and unanimously approved. <br /> Harbormaster Report: Navigation aids are out and the winter sticks are in place. <br /> Shellfish Constable Report: Oyster beds opened November 1st. Planting quahog Inside the <br /> mouth of Great River was underway.This section will be closed to shell fishing. <br /> lashpee Wa eby Report: Bill Taylor-Peaceful at the moment <br /> Popponesset Bay Wa uoit Bay report:A boat in Waquoit broke loose and was removed as <br /> reported by the Harbormaster. <br /> Sewer Committee: No new information <br /> Dredging: Ken Bates stated that Great River survey and dredge is planned for November. <br /> Harbormaster Stephen Mone wants to be notified so he can be part of the process. <br /> Additionally,the Poppy Approach Channel survey and dredge is planned for February and <br /> Steve would like to be notified of that as well.There was a discussion on what it would take <br /> to increase the size of the footprint for the Approach-Channel. It was determined that it <br /> would involve an Improvement Dredge Permit application which would require a lot of <br /> work/expense and no further action was indicated. <br /> A vote to adjourn was made by Tim Leedham, 2nd by Bill Taylor at 9:42 ASI.The vote was <br /> unanimous. Next meeting is planned for December 10 ,,9AM. , <br />
