Mashpee Waterways Commission <br /> Minutes of the June 10th,,2014 Meeting <br /> Chairman Ken Bates called the meeting to order at 9:05 AM at the Mashpee Town Mall in <br /> the Ockway Meeting Room. <br /> Present: Ken Bates,Al Wickel,Bill Taylor,Tim Leedharn, Don MacDonald and Paul Zammito <br /> Absent: Steve Pinard <br /> Also present: na <br /> Minutes of May 13th ., 2014: lotion was made by Tim Leedham to approve minutes, 2ndby <br /> Don MacDonald and unanimously approved. <br /> Communications and Correspondence: <br /> None <br /> Harbormaster Report: <br /> No Report <br /> Shellfish Constable Report: <br /> No Report <br /> Mashpee Wakeby Report: <br /> Bill reported that there was not too much to report. Don added that the swim lines had <br /> been added to the areas around Lovell Holly beach area restricting powered watercraft use <br /> within this area. The closing of this area to motor boats will limit the activities available. It <br /> was mentioned by the owners of the area that with this restriction that campers from the <br /> YMCA facilities would once again return. Also mentioned was the letter from the President <br /> of the Mashpee shores Association regarding concerns with the weeds that are growing in <br /> the lake.This information was passed on to the town's conservation department <br /> Public Access Update: <br /> Al reported he was In communications with town DPW Chief Catherine Laurent regarding <br /> improving road conditions of Wills Works road. A meeting between the town and WB N ER <br /> was scheduled for later this month and Al would make himself available for the meeting. <br /> Ken offered to follow up with his contacts at the state level to offer assistance. <br /> Al also reported that the Great River Boat ramp project was moving forward and that <br /> Coastal Engineering was finalizing the plans for permitting. FIs Laurent said she should be <br /> filing with the Conservation Commission next month. She also mentioned she would like to <br /> review the final plans with the Waterway's Commission next month during our July <br /> meeting. <br />
