Ma h ee waterways Commission <br /> Minutes of the October 14th,2014 Meeting <br /> Chairman Ken Bates called the meeting to order at :o 5 AM at the Mashpee Town Hall in <br /> the ockay Meeting Hoorn. <br /> Present: Ken Bates,Al Wicket, Don MacDonald and Paul zammito <br /> Absent: Steve Pinard, Bill Taylor,Tim Leed am <br /> Also present: Chairman Ken Bates introduced Dorn Barton and Stan Healy as prospective <br /> members for the Waterway's Commission. Steve Pinard had decided to tender his <br /> resignation due to his roving from Mashp a creating a vacancy. <br /> Motion was made by Don MacDonald, 2ndKen Bates to accept the resignation of Steve <br /> Pinard,with regrets,and unanimously approved. <br /> Minutes of June loth , 2014: Motion was made by Al SII ickel to approve minutes, gra by <br /> Dorn MacDonald and unanimously approved. <br /> Communications and Correspondence: <br /> Written confirmation was received from the town's Board of Selectmen in support of Save <br /> Poppy Bay's efforts to improve/sustain the Popponsset Bay SPB spit through increased <br /> dredging of the entrance channel to the bay. SPB is the majority landowner of the spit and <br /> is working with the COE in developing additional permits for increased dredging with the <br /> hopes that the additional spoils will stabilize the spit protecting the fragile environment o <br /> .the bay. <br /> Motion was made by Don MacDonald, 2nd by Paul zarnito,to support the efforts ofPB <br /> and the town's efforts to stabilize the spit,and unanimously approved. <br /> Harbormaster Report: <br /> No Report <br /> Shellfish Constable Report; <br /> No Report <br /> Mashpee Wakeby Report: <br /> No Report <br /> Public Access Update: <br /> Al reported that he had seen improvements to the goad conditions for the majority of Wills <br /> Works road. Improvements were accomplished by Mashpee DPW. <br /> Al had nothing new to report on the Great River Boat ramp project* <br /> Popponesset Bay Waquoit Baer report: <br />
