Street Light Committee Wednesday, August 22, 2012 Minutes Members Present: Rodney Collins, Chris Acis, Catherine Laurent Others: Joyce Mason A quorum being present, the meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm, The minutes from the May-22, 2012 meeting were approved unanimously. NEW BUSINESS Request for Light at Mercantile Way/Great Neck Road South The Committee decided against recommending a light at this intersection at this time. There is a light at Sugar Pine Drive that provides some illumination of the curve. Chief Collins did not find any history of accidents that right point to a safety issue The Committee will reconsider if the LED street light project with the Cape Light Compact roves forward. OLD BUSINESS Li ht at Rte 151/Winslow Farms D rive The Committee deferred consideration to the next meeting. LED Strei2t Light Demonstration Project The Committee agreed to part iC1 pate in the demonstration. The lights selected for the replacement with LED fixtures are along Route 130 at the rear entrance to Town Hall and along Route 151 from the Rotary to the Municipal Complex. The Committee discussed assessing the need for the existing street lights before potential conversion of the lights to LED. DPW will inventory the lights and identify which are public or private. The Committee may recommend relocating light fixtures and either converting some to private or removing them The meeting adjourned at 5:45 pry, Respectively submitted, Catherine Lauren
