Page 5 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> December 4, 1995 <br /> ,COM CATIONS AND CORRESPONDENCE: <br /> Small fities Grant-ADA Pro am: <br /> Mr.Whritenour indicated that he received response that the Town <br /> has been successful in attaining a Small Cities Grant pertaining to <br /> the Americans with Disabilities Program in the amount of$475,439. <br /> It was noted that the Town Hall renovation/restoration project and <br /> • playgrounds throughout the Town of Mashpee will benefit from grant <br /> funding. In addition, the Senior Center will be able to establish a <br /> handicap program. Funds will support the program y am for one year. A <br /> P �' <br /> handicap van will be purchased for this program indicated Mr. Whritenour. <br /> The Selectmen expressed appreciation to Mr. Whritenour and Sharon <br /> Travers Cay for their efforts to obtain the competitive grant for the <br /> Town of Mashpee. It was noted that grant funds will also cover the cost <br /> of the Small Cities Grant preparation. <br /> Communication from the gape hod Reional Transit Authority: <br /> Mr.Whritenour indicated that he met with Joseph Potzka, Administrator <br /> of the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (CCRTA) to discuss the <br /> SeaLine bus service. <br /> The CCR.TA has agreed to not cancel the SeaLine service for a minimum <br /> of(3)months. After this time, there will be a guaranteed public hearing <br /> to address the service connection to Town Hall indicated Mr. Whritenour. <br /> It was noted that the Mashpee Circulator, aear round buss stem <br /> y y <br /> developed to connect neighborhoods in west and northeast Mashpee to <br /> Mashpee Commons has begun service today. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to make the service known to the public. <br /> is <br /> Recommended sites for schedules include; the post office, the library, the <br /> senior center and high density residential locations. The schedule will <br /> also be posted on the localg overnment channel. <br /> _ Proposed Draft Affirmative Action Policv- <br /> Mr. Whritenour distributed copies of the proposed draft Affirmative <br /> Action Policy for the Town of Mashpee for the Board's review. <br /> The policy will be placed on the Board's agenda of December 11, 1995 <br /> at 6-30 p.m. for public comment. <br />
