Page 2 Mashpee library Trustee Minutes April 18, 1995 Dan McCullough (Professor at Cape Cod Community College and y columnist of the Carpe Cod Times) will speak soon at Friends Meeting Iv Communications: Board of Library Commissioners - 2nd Municipal Equal. Business from Previous Meetings-, A. Week from Monday, Town Meeting. Selectmen would not support Cathy's increase with benefits. Denise Sullivan did not think they would approve any new positions. Finance Committee would not support it either. Denise Sullivan advised that we fight on Torn Meeting floor. Finance Committee turned down Heating system. Sid Golub will contact us with their concerns. We meed to advocate for 26 hours for Cathy and a new circulation oierk. Write up on #9 is very good, Dick read it to the Board. Pick was concerned that some Selectmen and Finance Committee members do no hold a library card. It was pointed out that- ithonfidentially laws you had to be careful how you use that information. You can use information ONLY if you do net get the information from us. It was suggested that Dick ask thein how many of thein use the Library. Toni asked Dick how he would address any rebuttals at the Taxpayers Forum on Saturday. it was also discussed that Denise Sullivan does not attend meetings like the previous members did. Need a representative at the Saturday meetings as we missed the League of Women Voters forum and comments were made. Some facts that were suggested that we use: 1) 0 Volunteers. 2 Two full time staff (large - 25 fours and Gerta - 35 hours) 3 One part-time (Cathy - 19 hours). 4) We need twenty-five more hours to keep Library afloat. It was suggested that we call everyone we know and be ready with' figures. Toni will introduce articles and Dick will also speak. Discussion of the salami requests and the various- recommendations from Selectmen and finance followed along with the suggestion that someone bring a calculator for any amendments ment to our articles. Selectmen only put one out of the three articles in so we could net fund position until October Town Meeting if it does pass.
