D Foe reported that circulation for -the month. of Augur t 199.5 -totalled 10-,.4,21 trans- -actions.. Included in that total were 7 , 763 adult items and 2,668 j juvenile items. There were 7 , 145 patron visits to 'the library. During the month, 118 patrons registered for cards with the library. Helene passed out a statement -which gave the year- end figures indicating amount remaining in the 1995 budget. B. Friends: M. Marsh extended a wart welcome to the four members of ,the Friends present. The tru tee i.ntrodu ed themselves, presented some personal background information, and explained the role of the board bf .trustees . Terri Hyde explained the role of .the Friends. A question was presented by -Terri Hyde relative to the recent obituary :of ,Peg Johnston which in- d i c a to d donations should' - e made to 1.I 1on s College Scholarship Fund -or to Christ the King Bui'lding Fund. Terri explained that they were looking for suggestions from the board relative to a memorial,* ' Mimi indicated that her feeling was that Peg Johnston had been in charge of vol- unteers . She worked very hard and long before she became ill. , Mimi felt that it would behoove the library to do something within the library. Helene indicated that she would possibly be in� A71 terested in a painting by a local artist to b hung in the library. Discussion relative to various local artists followed.
