BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES MONTHLY MEETING <br /> SEPTEMBER 1 , 1995 <br /> PAGE <br /> ft <br /> BUSINESS FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS: (continued) <br /> Heating/venting capital improvement: Helene reported that <br /> the bids had cloed last Wednesday; two bids had been <br /> received. The successful bidder was Bayside Mechanicals, <br /> who have performed work for the library in the past. Helene <br /> felt that based upon their previous' performance, they would <br /> do a very good job. <br /> Report on video storage shelves: Mimi Marsh reported that <br /> she had spoken to Este and advised that she would likesome- <br /> one from there to visit the library --on Friday .when the <br /> library .would be closed to review thein needs, and present <br /> some ideas and prices . - Mimi is awaiting that. <br /> Signs for the librar on lit. '151 - Cheryl. Haver reported <br /> that i order to post signs on 151 or 28 required a state <br /> permit. Permission from the town was also required. One <br /> would have to go thr u h the state of M ssach etts, Dept. <br /> of -Public Works . ' The i.ndi.vidu 1 that Cheryl had t contact <br /> will return her call to advise her relative to the pos ibl ity . <br /> of '-their recei ving a permi-t, the permit cost, 'and -the <br /> criteria. <br /> Cheryl visited the DPW in Falmouth and determined who made <br /> their sign* It was suggested that Greg Taylor be contacted <br /> and asked to foot the bill, 'Since very often the DPW has <br /> the money for, signage. Cheryl' will continue to work on this <br /> project. <br /> Mimi advised that she had -hoped for two signs, one on each <br /> side of Rt. 151, so that drivers' would see the signs coning <br /> and going. <br /> I NEW BUSINESS: <br /> Library maintenance; Helene reported that the library .had <br /> been having some outside maintenance which began with replac- <br /> ing a rotted shutter* ' lis- a result, 'replacement vinyl shutters } <br /> have been ordered for all of the 'windows. - It was also de- <br /> cided that the triin needed painting. ' Therefore, the Town <br /> will paint all o f .the outside trim, a s .well. <br /> Helene further reported there have been some problems with <br /> some of the door locks . ' A locksmith checked all of the <br /> doors, and discovered that there was v rypoor security ,as <br /> a result of .the lochs and the Jam. on the front door, <br />
