BOARD OF LIBRARY TRUSTEES MONTHLY MEETING TUESDAY, DECEMBER 12 1995 7 : 00 P. M. DeFtoe requested } on Page 2 , Item v, B to delete entire section relative to storage area for videos . - Substitute: "We received some quotes for the video shelving and will go ahead with that project,. " III REPORTS: A. Librarian: Circulation for the month of November was 6 , 849 iters, which represents new record high in circulation especially during a normally slow period. Helene further reported that the librar ,has a new category: Young Adult. As part of the long range plan, we indicated that we would have a separate young adult department. As part of -the cooperative Collection plan, the CLPLLMS system is classifying the computer records a ours adult. CLAMS will, therefore, � o e, be better able to measure the usage of the Young Adult eategory .by .that age group. Another item which was in our long ranee plan was training as a priority. There have been a number of staff training opportuinties available recently. ' Gerta has attended a program on "How to do the Hone Page'. " She has al.so attended programs on how to use the Internet. ' Sand .will attend a program this week 'on basic reference. In the event that Gerta and Helene were absent, ' Sander will be able to answer very basic questions . ' Kathy Ma] unas has attended the same course. Kath also attended a training session on preserva- tion of materials . These courses have been run by the State Library System therefore, the only cost to the library will be raimbursment of the staff .for travel expenses . Progress is being made on our long ranee plan.
