All agree that Mr. Valle from Valle Builders would be a great person to talk with for the
s Mashpee Trust's first project because he has done a wonderful job with his first affordable
project on Meetinghouse Road. Zella, Cynthia, and Charlotte have found what they feel is a
great location on the corner of Barnstable and Lowell Roads. The Mashpee Trust would need
to get approval at the fall town meeting. It is felt that Charlotte could help write an article to
get on fall warrant. The funds from the Cape Light Compact would possibly be used for this
project.
ella is concerned with the organization of this committee. while she was ill, it became
apparent to her that nothing was being done between the meetings. She feels that the
committee will continue to be at a standstill if this continues and it worries her because
everyone has worked hard. Although she has been happy as the committee chairman, she
would like to discuss further a replacement for herr. She would obviously work closely with
that person to bring there up to date.
OLD BUSINESS:
Marty brought up the recent articles in the paper regarding the Echo Load/Route 130 project
known as Mashpee woods. He noticed that the Eire Chief has recently expressed the same
concerns this committee has had since the project was first proposed to the committee. Marty
feels that the committee was led to believe that the fire department was in
agreement/approved the builders. The Fire Chief had even written a letter of support and
staters verbally at a ZBA meeting. All committee members agree that this is no surprise now
that the project has come before the ZBA for approval, which it has not granted, Both the
water department and the fire department have water pressure concerns and a concern
regarding the second entrance. Marty feels that this committee has been mislead by the
builder of this project. Alice agrees and further states that this is why allowing builders to
make"slight changes without approval is a problem.
MISCELLANEOUS:
• It is speculated that October I is the next deadline for CPA Bands.
• The Comprehensive Plan still being worked on by the Planning board. The committee will be
able to review before it is forwarded to the Cape Cod commission.
MEMBERSHIP:
• John Paone has resigned from this committee and from the Barnstable dome Consortium.
He will continue with Habitat for Humanity.
• Committee now has two vacancies.
Next Meeting...Tuesday, Mayl at 7:00prn, Mashpee Town Hall.
Mr. Henry made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Rev. Green seconded the motion, and the
motion was carried. The meeting was adjourned at 81 opm.
Respectfully submitted by,
Denise E. MacFarlane
Board Secretary.
