Cahalane <br /> Meeting Called to Order by Chairman Sherman at 6:30 p.m. <br /> Mashpee Town Hall, Waquoit Meeting Room <br /> MINUTES <br /> Monday, August 6, 2018 Regular Session: <br /> Motion made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the minutes of Monday,August 6,2018 <br /> as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cotton. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman Sherman,yes Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman O'Hara,yes <br /> Selectman Cotton,yes Opposed, none <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Public Comment: <br /> Mashpee resident Richard DeSorgher requested the Board of Selectmen name the second Monday of each <br /> October as Indigenous People Day in the Town of Mashpee. The movement is part of a broader attempt to <br /> clarify history and culture. The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe and the Mashpee School Committee recognize <br /> this day, and in his opinion, it would make sense for the entire Town of Mashpee to recognize this day. <br /> Paul Torney, a Mashpee resident for the past 37 years indicating that he is attempting to raise and replace his <br /> aging 10,000 square foot home. The house has a failing septic system and sits on a cinder block foundation. <br /> Mr. Torney indicated he would like to improve his home by adding a new septic system, and improving the <br /> foundation and plumbing. Mr. Torney respectfully requested the Board consider the Bylaw amendment <br /> proposed on the Town Meeting warrant as Article #16. <br />
