Louise Patrick talked about the multi-cultural festival held
at CCCC. There were native foods and crafts , and the event
was the first of its kind and free. The Committee discussed
having an ethnic potluck dinner which would draw and
celebrate from all cultures . The High School Cafeteria was
selected as the location for the event. Louise will create
a sub--committee and find out how CCCC organized their event
with food, crafts , etc. It will be called a No Place for Hate
event supported by the Mashpee Affirmative Action Committee.
The tentative date is Saturday , August 11th. Louise will return
with an update. This will be advertised as a Mashpee event.
The Committee determined they did not need to go into Executive
Session at this time. One issue is in the process of being
resolved with the employer. Another issue involving the use
of 'a Community building is moving towards setting up a meeting
with the principals so that all parties can discuss the issue.
Jan S. volunteered to participate in this meeting . Myrna N.
expects to hear about a meeting time next week.
The meeting adjourned at 6 : 30 p.m.
Mary Gelsthorpe , Recording Secretary
-2-
