11 <br /> Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> August 21, 2017 <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Catherine Laurent, DP_W_Director: <br /> Great River Boat Ramp Reconstruction: <br /> Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works was in attendance to recommend the Board vote to <br /> close the Great River Boat Ramp from Monday, September 18, 2017 to Friday,November 17, 2017 <br /> to complete the Great River Boat Ramp reconstruction project. <br /> With the Selectmen's approval, notice would be provided to boaters' immediately through direct <br /> mailing, the Town's website, and the newspaper along with signage at the boat ramp. The Harbormaster <br /> is also expected to communicate with the Town of Falmouth regarding the use of White's Landing. <br /> The time sensitive project includes demolishing the existing ramp and the construction of a coffer dam. <br /> During this time, the parking lot will be competed. The Waterways Commission is in support of the <br /> September closure due to weather uncertainties. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Cahalane to approve the closure of the Great River Boat Ramp <br /> from Monday, September 18,2017 through Friday, November 17. 2017. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Sherman. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Roll Call Vote: <br /> Selectman O'Hara,yes Selectman Cotton,yes Selectman Sherman,yes <br /> Selectman Gottlieb,yes Selectman Cahalane,yes Opposed, none <br /> uina uisset Avenue: Road Closure/Detour: <br /> Catherine Laurent, Director of Public Works recommended the closure of Quinaquisset Avenue from <br /> Monday, October 9, 2017 through Friday, October 13, 2017 to complete the road culvert. It was <br /> noted the project has been delayed from an April start date due to the manufacture of the custom culvert. <br /> A complete closure is required. With the Columbus Day holiday on October 9, 2017 school bus routes <br /> will be minimally disrupted. The detour involves eastbound traffic at Orchard Road and westbound <br /> traffic in Cotuit. <br /> Willowbend has agreed to allow detours through their neighborhood. Notification to neighboring areas <br /> will be provided. It was highly recommended the Reverse 911 system be initiated as soon as possible in <br /> the Town of Mashpee and in the neighboring Town of Cotuit. <br />
