I
Connecting veterans, families and the community since 1983
r y 247 Stevens Street, Suite E • Hyannis, MA 02601
011YU1$1:A( li 508,778.1590 • Fax 508.778.1094
www.copeveterans.com
in the library conference room, and he will be available, Monday through Friday by
appointment.
3. Your third question referred to services and number of people who have availed
themselves of the same. I have stated above that we served 52 clients in our Holistic Program
providing 347 holistic therapies to these clients. The community attendees of the symposia listed
above number approximately 150.
4. The regular events held at the Grace Building which are central to our core mission are
listed above.
5. You questioned the by-law amendment stating that the Board Meetings would be held at
247 Stevens Street. The sole purpose of the by-law included in our application was to make an
official notation of the change of address of our main office. We will continue to use the Grace
Building for Board meetings and functions as it suits the purpose of those meetings, such as
legislative delegation meetings, interviewing of candidates and joint compositions requiring the
participation of many, as we have in the past. The date of our latest Board Meeting at Grace, as
stated above was May 22, 2018. As those meetings are in the evening, perhaps those you have
spoken to who are familiar with the building's use have not been present to observe them.
6. The two motor vehicles listed on the application were there only to indicate ownership
of the same. They are parked in Hyannis and we do not request exemption from excise
taxes from the Town of Mashpee.
7. As stated in your question,we did provide emergency relief to a Mashpee 5016, the
Peninsula Council, in a demonstration of community support. In return the Council does
provide us with a monthly rental fee. That rental fee directly supports our charitable mission as
it is invested directly into our operating funds which support the multifaceted menu of services
which we offer to veterans and their families. The compensation we receive from the
Commonwealth's Department of Veteran Services supports only a portion of the salaries of our
very small staff. Our operating costs which are significant must be funded by support from
other sources. The Peninsula Council rent is deposited directly into our operating account and is
quickly expended. The examples of the support of the Council in maintaining the building and
thereby enabling us to continue to use it for our charitable purposes are listed in Section 1.
Serving Veterans of All Conflicts and Eras -
