Mee Affordable Housing Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> February 4, 2014 at :30 pin <br /> waquoit Meeting Roorn, Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Present: Chairman Walter Abbott, Berkeley Johnson, Kalliope Egloff, Allan Isbit <br /> CALL To ORDER <br /> Chairman Abbott opened the meeting at 630 p.m. and the roll was called. <br /> APPROVAL of TES-January 7, 2014 <br /> ` rove the minutes f the meeting of January `. Vis. <br /> Mr. Johnson made motion o app o � <br /> gloff seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Feasibility Study Status <br /> The Chairman reported that the results of the study would be presented to the Board of <br /> Selectmen at their meeting on February 2 . Three proposals have been received in response to <br /> the RFP,, including a leasing possibility RFP from Laura Shufelt. Ms. Egloff requested whether <br /> n overview of each proposal could be made available to the Affordable Housing Committee. <br /> The Chair indicated that he would attend the Bos meetmg. <br /> 4 <br /> The Chair also reported that he and Mr. Isbitz submitted the AHC resolution to the Town <br /> Manager and Assistant Town Manager. Mr. Isbitz.indicated that the Town seemed to be open to <br /> different approaches and pointed out the Town's regulatory position in controlling the <br /> development, so that the project would be what the town was seeking while allowing the <br /> developer to do their own work, his. Mason planned to follow up with other sources to consider <br /> various approaches, such as a Sandwich development. <br /> Deference was made to an article in the newspaper. Ms. Egloff emphasized the need to <br /> consistently include information in the paper regarding the Mate's 10% affbrdable housing <br /> requirement. <br /> Mashpee Commons <br /> The Char indicated that there were no updates regarding the Mashpee Commons project, adding <br /> that there were no applications available for affordable housing units. The Chair indicated that a <br /> list had been started. The first building will be commercial but the second building will have <br /> rental apartments, some of which will be located on the'ground floor. Ms. Egloff recommended <br /> inviting Mashpee Commons to attend a future meeting to present more detailed information, <br /> such as the type of housing available and the process to appy for affordable housing. The Chair <br /> indicated Haat he would follow up with Mashpee Commons. <br /> Discussion turned to differences between affordable housing and market units. There was <br /> agreement that there should not be a great deal of disparity between the two. Ms. Egloff <br /> emphasized her preference that sustainable and/or green products be used in lashpee's <br />
