f <br /> Assessing Director's Frt. <br /> `Jason Streebel reported that he had sent out the second income and expense request to all <br /> crucial enterprises. A $250 penalty free will apply for every commercial enterprise that does not <br /> return the income and expense study, which fire automatically removes the right of appeal. Jason <br /> Streebel stated that he expects a good number of fines that will apply. <br /> * Sales Review of 2013 <br /> Jason strbl stated that he has completed the analysis of safes from 2013 through March of 201 <br /> and next week will continue the analysis of sales, hopefully to be completed by October 2014. <br /> Residential Tac Exemption for I l shpee <br /> Jason Streebel reported that a Working Group has been formed consisting of Joyce Mason, Jason <br /> Streebel, Treasurer Collector Craig Mayen and newly elected Board of selectman Andrew Gottlieb, to <br /> research the feasibility of adopting a residential tax exemption program for the Town of Mashpee. <br /> Gregg Fraser noted the unfortunate absence of a member of the hoard of Assessors in the Working <br /> Group, as well as a member of the Finance Committee. There are just 12 communities on the Cape <br /> I <br /> that have instituted the tax exemption program, and acne of them are happy with it. Once the program <br /> has been instituted, it is non-reversible. Paul Andrews noted that with the additional staff required by <br /> the Assessing Department to handle the program, it Would result in a net loss of around $100,000 to <br /> the Torn. Mason Strebel stated that the next meeting of the Working Group is scheduled for late <br /> July- <br /> Gregg Fraser stated his position on the proposal that the information provided does not recommend <br /> mend <br /> Itself to the approval of the residential tax exemption program for Mashpee. <br /> Pawl Andrews made a motion'that the Assessing Director and the Board of Assessors Chairman draft <br /> a letter to the Burd of selectmen stating their opposition to approval of the residential tax exemption <br /> program. Gregg Fraser seconded the motion. The motion l as unanimously approved. <br /> NEXT MEETING DATE: TBD. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> As there was no further business, Sheldon Holzer made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. <br /> Gregg Fraser seconded the motion.
