Cemetery Commission <br /> February 3, 2014 <br /> Members present: Ernest Virgilio., Charlie Hinckley <br /> Others: Catherine Laurent <br /> The meeting was opened at 4:15 p.m.. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> The minutes from the July 26,, 2012 meetingwere approved unanimously. <br /> Plot Sales and Account Balance <br /> Plot sales have been averaging$30,000 over the last 3 years. Interments are averaging 20 per <br /> year. with the annual budget of$15,000,the remaining funds are being reserved for future <br /> capital expenses. <br /> FY13 Projects <br /> Work completed in FY13 included installation of a landscape buffer along the wood line behind <br /> Section B as a noise and visual barrier from Mercantile way.. Several trees did not survive and <br /> will be replaced (under warranty). Irrigation was also extended to this area. Granite posts for <br /> the water spigots were purchased and will be installed before the water is turned back on this <br /> spring. <br /> FY14 Projects <br /> The Committee discussed installing a water feature and landscaping in the "`natural" area <br /> adjacent to the flags. <br /> Other <br /> Several plot owners have planted bushes/shrubs that have grown too large, in violation of the <br /> cemetery rules. Catherine will draft a letter asking that the owners remove bushes by <br /> certain date or the DPW will remove them. A similar letter will be sent to plot owners that have <br /> placed mementos on graves that do not comply with the cemetery rules. <br /> The Committee set a meeting schedule of the 1st Wednesday of every other month at 5 pm. <br /> The next meeting will be April 2nd. <br /> The meeting adjourned at 4:45 .ren.. <br /> Respectively submitted, <br /> i 1 <br /> Catherine Laurent <br /> DPW Director <br />
