Strategy Discussion <br /> • <br /> Difficult process to amend the Charter. Proposed changes have to have Town Meeting <br /> approval and then be approved by ballot vote. <br /> Timeframe for Charter Review to complete this work is for neat Annual Town Meeting, <br /> but could be delayed-if necessary. <br /> • Any recommended changes that can be accomplished via B' Law change would b the <br /> responsibility of theBy-Law Review committee in year 2015. Public should be informed <br /> of this possibility. <br /> • Important to inform as many people as possible of the process involved to change a <br /> Charter, <br /> important to inform pubfic and get their input by utilizing Mashpee Tv;Town, Website; <br /> Mashpee Enterprise;Town T un er#s office as resources. <br /> A sample of a public survey document was reviewed as one of the ways to get Feedback. <br /> The survey could be placed on Town Website; and copies distributed at locations i <br /> Town. <br /> • Town Counsel would be available, if necessary. In addition;the committee may need to <br /> request a small budget amount to obtain legal counsel whose expertise deals with Town <br /> Charter. <br /> • Mate laws have changed in the past 10 years since the Town Charter was adopted. What <br /> is the impact, if any? <br /> Meeting Schedule <br /> Charter requires that this Committee bold a Public Hearing within 30 days. <br /> Motion: Mr.Richardson motioned to set Charter Review Public Hearing for,dune 27, 2013 at <br /> 6:30 p.m. Nor.
